John Guerra Of Keys News (The Key West Citizen) Needs a vacation October 23
In a response to a Connie Mack Press Release he replied:
The Republican Party is now a mentally ill group of people who want nothing more than to destroy Obama’s first term no matter how much the country needs his policies. I despise your party’s activities and the hatred you spew on Fox and other sounding boards for the insurance companies. Please don’t you dare get him killed, which is the underlying goal of you right wing nuts
Mr. Guerra is entitled to an opinion, certainly, but as a reporter he should probably keep it to himself, especially since myself and many readers of the Key West Citizen are conservatives. Personally? I think he’s nuts based on that email response and should probably get off the rock and go diving and drinking like a normal person – not at the same time. When he’s got some perspective back I’ll be happy to debate him as to why he’s wrong. Right now, though? I think he needs a vacation from paradise … after Fantasy Fest next weekend.
I’m sad that one bad day for Guerra puts the Citizen in a horrific spotlight nationally. It’s a great paper and the Keys are a live and let live community full of hard working, and even harder playing people.
